We are the
K'ai Tailé Denesųłiné
Welcome to the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation. We have occupied this region for thousands of years, continuing our traditions of hunting, trapping, fishing and gathering today just as our ancestors did before us. As stewards of the region, we have a deep understanding of our land and are committed to creating a better world for the next generation.
Protecting and honouring our connection to traditional lands and waters
We fiercely protect our Treaty Rights, traditional lands and language—for the generations to come. The Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation’s Dené Lands and Resource Management (DLRM) office builds capacity within our Nation to work with industry and government, ensuring that environmental impacts on our territory are understood and addressed.
